Good time bad times, Bea Arthur and Rue McClanahan have seen them all. The trashed hotel rooms and slew of Estelle Getty groupies these two have left in their wake is legendary. Ramble on, Dorthy and Blanche. Ramble on!

To diffuse the avalanche of hate mail to soon deluge the Urban family compound, let me go on record stating I have loved the Mighty Zeppelin dearly since junior high school. I used to steal my brothers Zep, Springsteen and Zevon cassettes. It was the only cool music I listened to growing up.

These guys are heroes, but you can not deny their uncanny present day resemblance to Bea and Rhue. Yes, I’m a whore for a good visual gag.

    We all are, dude.

Really, we’re wasting our time writing 1,000 words, when you look at the attention icanhazcheezburger.com and our old-lesbian-outer get.

“Ramble on. Doot. Doot. Doot. Doot. Doot. Sing my song.” Estelle Getty’s last sane words.

(pause here whilst everyone searches to see if Getty is dead.)

Nope. Dementia has taken its toll, but she’s still a rocker. And, Jimmy Page looks more like her every day.

Estelle Getty: Still alive and raising hell

Seriously, do any British rockers age well? Show me one. Just one.

British rockers don’t age unless they fall from trees and bonk themselves in the head like Keith Richards. It is the coconut tree syndrome.

Anyways, I have been hit with a meme. It is at Cowgirl Betty’s site… the Big Bang meme.

Build Your Own Best Of - or - Why I Always Choose The Orange Bowl…

Natalie from over at Mini-Obs posted an interesting exercise today - a Build A Best Of:

The idea - Pick one of your favorite bands / artists and list 10-15 songs by that band / artist to compile your own best of compilation.

    What a fabulous idea …

I am looking forward to these lists. If any I know has a music collection of well-known,known, partially-known, and shouldn’t-be-known, it is Scott. He is my Maven of music.

Do you think Rue still perms her hair?

I’m trying to figure out who that is in the photo above.

  11. on 30 Jan 2008 at 10:29 am Herb Urban

David Coverdale of Whitesnake. Father time is been most unkind to him.

I doubt Rue still uses a perm. Everyone permed in the 80’s. I’m sure she has moved on.
